Introduction to "Injection Grade TPO MDK310 Elastomer TPO Plastic Raw Material"
Two major classifications of TPO According to the way of synthesis, TPO is divided into two types: polymerization and blending.
(1). Aggregate TPO
Two (or more) polymer monomers are copolymerized to produce a polymer. A part of the molecular segment of the polymer is crystallized, and another part of the segment remains flexible, so that the material has both rigid and elastic segments, and has the physical cross-linked structure of thermoplastic elastomers. As mentioned above, POE is a typical case, and so are EVA.
(2).Blend TPO
This type of TPO is an olefin elastomer synthesized by physical blending of rubber and polyolefin. Common blended varieties are PP/POE, PP/EPDM, PP/NBR, PVC/NBR, etc. Among them, the blending of PP/EPDM, in addition to the general blending, also has a dynamic vulcanization blending method, which is also called TPV, Thermoplastic Vulcanizate in the elastomer industry, which means thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizate. TPV is a special type of TPO, and it is also a successful and widely used TPO, so that it has a separate name TPV.
Main properties of TPO materials
Appearance: natural color, transparent, (fog) black particles; hardness: ShoreA50~64D
3.1. With UV and ozone resistance, temperature resistance -60 ℃ to 135 ℃.
The material feels fine, excellent aging resistance, acid, alkali, alcohol solvent chemicals.
3.3. Low density -0.95, surface matte (matte) is very good, the effect that general TPE/TPR materials cannot achieve.
3.4. Environmentally friendly material, high tear resistance, low compression deformation.
The main application areas of TPO
Cable, textile, construction, home appliance fields;
Auto parts: glass edge seals, hood seals, hoses, lamp covers, dust covers, dust seats, airbags, etc.;
Mechanical tools: handles, grips, rubber rollers, nozzle joints, glass seals, etc.
TPO is only one kind of thermoplastic elastomer TPE. In addition to TPO, thermoplastic elastomer TPE also includes TPU, TPES (TPR), TPV, TPAE, TPEE and so on.
