Increasing international competitiveness
To increase its international competitiveness, the KraussMaffei Group is working on making its production facilities cost-effective in the long term. "To ensure that we are competitive in the future too, we will not only be pooling our expertise and transferring processes to the production plants in Munich and Sučany (Slovakia), but also making better use of the infrastructures that are already there. Manufacturing and assembly processes that are currently carried out in Treuchtlingen will also be transferred to these two sites," says Jan Siebert, CEO of the KraussMaffei Group.
As part of this change process, the Treuchtlingen location is to be closed. The majority of employees at the Treuchtlingen location are to be offered the opportunity to continue their careers in Munich. "During this process, the company will do everything it can to offer a large number of employees a position at the Munich plant. All potential transitioning of personnel will be carried out in a socially responsible manner. Where necessary, we will actively help affected employees to find another job or redirect their careers as much as possible," says Siebert. Details will be discussed with the Works Council in the next few weeks. All trainees will be offered continued employment within the Group.
