Globalpu News: In order to better adapt to the global trend of plastic recycling and recycling, the Coperion Group recently built a new recycling innovation center. Located at its production site in Weingarten, Germany, the center is an expansion of the existing material handling test center.
When completed, the center will make it easier for customers to develop and test new products and processes in the field of recycling with Coperion's experts
According to reports, the experimental center reproduces the entire process in the recycling production process, including material transportation, metering feeding, extrusion, granulation and subsequent material processing. It will help Coperion to better carry out research on new technologies and new processes for plastic recycling.
With the opening of this new facility, Coperion's test laboratory area in Germany will be expanded to 5,000 m² (53,819 sq. ft.), this investment clearly demonstrates Coperion's focus on innovation and research and development in the field of sustainability.
Markus, chairman of the board of directors of Coperion's polymer division and general manager of the group company Parzer said: "With the continuous improvement of consumers' environmental awareness and the continuous improvement of environmental protection legislation in various countries around the world (such as the European Green Development framework Agreement), the world's demand for advanced and efficient plastic recycling solutions will be in the next few years. It keeps increasing. The establishment of the new Recycling Innovation Center reflects the great importance Coperion attaches to the application of plastic recycling.”
An essential part of sustainable development - recycling
Against the backdrop of changing consumer habits and increasingly stringent environmental protection legislation around the world, the plastics industry has long recognized that recycling is the only way to be sustainable. Colleagues in the plastics industry all over the world have been exploring how to realize the industrial production of plastic recycling.
In order to better explore better recycling solutions with customers from all over the world, the new Coperion Recycling Innovation Center is equipped with relevant equipment for all upstream and downstream links in the recycling field. Innovative solutions at any point in the recycling field can be tested at the Recycling Innovation Center, where real production conditions are quickly replicated.
Marina, Technical Manager, Recycling Processes, Coperion Matta said: “With the help of this state-of-the-art testing laboratory, we provide our customers with a top-of-the-line testing platform for the development of new processes and products. In addition to existing solutions for mechanical recycling of industrial and post-consumer plastics, we also Other types of recycling processes can be developed and tested with customers. What's more, the Recycling Innovation Center provides a testing platform for the translation of our research findings into the industrial production of plastic recycling.
