Introduction to new MMA technology
According to reports, the project adopts the new ionic liquid-catalyzed ethylene-based MMA technology provided by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Using ethylene, carbon monoxide, hydrogen and methanol as raw materials, it undergoes hydroformylation reaction, aldol condensation reaction, aldehyde oxidation reaction, and esterification reaction. And the refining process produces MMA and by-product propionaldehyde. The industrialized device was jointly developed and completed by the Institute of Processes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Henan Energy Group Research Institute, and Zhongyuan Dahua Company after ten years of hard work. In March 2019, it passed the scientific and technological appraisal organized by the Petrochemical Federation.
